LAB-008 · Kenya Nyeri Mahiga AB
New in the lab: a 91.5-point washed Kenya. One 50 lb lot. When it's gone, it's gone.
Specimen: LAB-008 · Nyeri County, Kenya · Washed Process · AB Screen
Kenya is where light roasting starts to make sense. This lot is bright, juicy and clean, with a tea-like finish. The green scored 91.5 on the importer's cupping table, with notes of cranberry, Darjeeling tea and turbinado sugar. Our own cupping notes and the house roast profile post to Lab Notes this week.
Low Voltage is the move if you like it bright. Full Charge rounds out the sweetness. Maximum Overdrive works, but it gives up the fruit this coffee is known for.
